Corey Haines just gave a superb and very inspiring talk on Software Craftsmanship. He talked about the art of programming and the things we can do to improve ourselves. Things like writing tests before the code, looking at what others can teach us, pair programming and of course practice, practice, practice. The stuff we all secretly know about, but not all of us do while programming. All in all, a very inspiring talk, that we can safely say put us all to think.
“we get paid a shitload of money, to do what we go home to do”
and
“how did you get so happy?, because i practiced and i’m awesome at programming”
Corey says on the fact that programmers have the best job in the world, and everyone should be happy with what they do.
A couple of the (many) tweets on Corey’s talk:
“What a fantastic and inspirational talk about Software Craftsmanship by @coreyhaines. Loved it!”
“@coreyhaines your talk was very inspiring. Thanks a lot! :)”
“listening to @coreyhaines’talk. a talented speaker, and the concept of coding practice makes sense.”
“Fantastic ! Great talk”
